Hey drama lovers and foodies—this one’s for you! If you’ve ever binged “Goblin” and wished you could walk through those hanok alleyways or watched “Itaewon Class” and dreamed of clinking soju glasses with Park Sae-Ro-Yi, Seoul is calling your name.
I recently spent 3 glorious days retracing K-drama steps and stuffing my face with some of Seoul’s best eats. Here's everything I saw, tasted, paid for, and loved—down to the last spicy bite.
Scene Vibes: Featured in “My Love From the Star,” “Legend of the Blue Sea,” “Boys Over Flowers”. Best time to visit? 5:00 PM for sunset into night views.
Dish: Kalguksu – ₩10,000 (~$7.70)
Flavor: Garlicky broth, silky noodles, spicy punchy kimchi. A comforting hug in a bowl.
Scene Vibes: As seen in “Goblin,” “Personal Taste,” “Encounter”. Come in the morning for peace, or golden hour for drama!
Dish: Injeolmi toast + Omija tea
Flavor: Buttery toast with roasted soybean dust, tart-fruity omija tea. Photogenic and nostalgic.
Scene Vibes: Featured in “Itaewon Class,” “Crash Landing on You,” “Something in the Rain”. Come at night for neon vibes and street eats.
Dish: Premium grilled Hanwoo beef
Flavor: Juicy, smoky perfection. Side dishes were excellent, and doenjang stew added depth.
Q: Can foreigners wear hanbok at Bukchon?
A: Totally! It’s encouraged, and many shops offer rentals nearby.
Q: Is it rude to take photos of people in hanbok?
A: Always ask first. Many are tourists like you!
Q: Can I visit DanBam from “Itaewon Class”?
A: Yes! The set became “Oriole” café, still open and rooftop ready.
Q: Do I need to tip in Korea?
A: Nope. Tipping isn’t a thing. Your bill is all-inclusive.
